A Virtual & Veritable Cabinet of Curiosities

29th September 2020 — 5th December 2020

The Virtual Cabinet of Curiosity is an online video of  collections shared by our virtual visitors available to view on Daventry Town Council’s YouTube channel.

We have also created a video of historic images of groups and gatherings from our photograph archive. It’s a delightful collection of group images from the 1800s to more recent history, we hope that you might recognise some images, tell us some more precise dates, or perhaps you recognise some familiar faces? Do share any information with us by email to the museum.

The Veritable Cabinet of Curiosities is the physical exhibition in the museum. We have delved into the museum’s wonderful store to put rarely seen items on display. Some of the museum team have kindly loaned items from their personal collections and share why and what they love about them. Chosen and researched by our team of volunteers, the Veritable Cabinet includes of paintings, Daventry inspired crockery, Lego, musical instruments, costume and much more. This exhibition is now only available to view via the virtual tour above, since the museum is closed now until 2021.
