Daventry Through The Ages

2nd September 2017 — 15th December 2017

The exhibition shows the development of Daventry and significant points in time that have contributed to the town’s heritage.

Historic Borough Hill plays an important part in Daventry’s early history by being the site of first settlers in the Stone Age followed by Bronze Age barrows, or round mounds, and an Iron Age hill fort. The site was also home to a Roman villa.  New exhibits of fossils, Neolithic flint axes, Bronze Age axes and Roman pottery reflect this early period. Other highlights include the medieval period, the coaching era, the age of radio and the town expansion.
