Volunteers’ Outing to Towcester

Group of visitors in Towcester

It’s Volunteer’s Week and to say thank you to our wonderful team of volunteers for all their hard work this year, we took them on a trip to Towcester!

We had a fascinating time learning about Towcester’s 5, 000 year history at Towcester Museum and Visitor Centre…Some even dressed up for the occasion…

Before lunch we headed to Saint Lawrence Church and saw the Tomb of Archdeacon Sponne, Rector 1422 – 1448.

As our stomachs were rumbling we then descended on Towcester Tea Rooms who kindly hosted the team and we enjoyed a delicious lunch, and volunteers received these thank you cards…

Volunteers week as a thank you from Daventry Museum

We got a little wet as the heavens opened just before we got on to the DACT bus but this didn’t dampen the volunteers’ spirits as they showed off their new Museum bags, bought with help from Daventry Town Council and a grant from Museum Development East Midlands.

Thanks to Towcester Museum and Visitor Centre, Towcester Tea Rooms, Tony from DACT and last but not least our fantastic group of volunteers!
