Come and join us at our Saturday opening between 10am and 4pm and discover more about Daventry! Did you know the BBC Long Wave transmitting station, known as the 5XX, opened in Daventry on this day, 27th July in 1925? The station on Borough Hill enabled the majority of the population to listen to BBC Radio. Find out more in our commemorative exhibition “Daventry Calling – 90 Year On”, where you will be able to learn interesting facts about the importance of Daventry in Radio broadcasting history. This is your last chance to catch the exhibition on a Saturday before we have a brand new exhibition at the beginning of September, (details to follow). Don’t miss out!
