Whip Braiding Machine
Whip braiding machine from 1900s. Whip making was a major industry in Daventry in the 1700s and 1800s due to the town becoming a thriving coaching town with stage coach proprietors carrying mails, parcels and passengers. The whips were needed by the carriage drivers for the horses who drew the coaches.
