Celebrate Heritage Open Days with Daventry Museum and do something new from Thursday 8th September – Sunday 11th September 2016.

The museum will be celebrating the Heritage Open Day theme of Europe and Us by putting on a display on Daventry’s Twinning with Westerburg in Germany. Visitors can learn about the history of Daventry’s Twinning Association and view memorabilia and photographs of the 30 year partnership.

Alongside the temporary Twinning display, visitors will be able to see the new exhibition Collect-o-Mania, which opens on Saturday 3rd September – an eclectic exhibition where members of the public are invited to showcase their own collections and interests from pocket watches to Polly Pockets, and toy cars to collecting coins.

Daventry Holy Cross Church Tower

Daventry Holy Cross Church Tower Open Day – Challenge 500

Holy Cross Church, Market Square, Daventry, NN11 4BL

Times: Saturday 10th Sept: 10:30 – 12:30

On Saturday members of the public are invited to tour the bell tower of the Holy Cross Church and have a go at bell ringing.

Note: CHALLENGE 500 is a challenge by the Central Council of Bell Ringers and Heritage Open Days to open up 500 of England’s bell towers to celebrate our most iconic heritage landmarks.

On Sunday 11th September Daventry Holy Cross Church will be celebrating by ringing a peal between 15:00 – 16:00.

Guided Town Walk


Thursday 8th Sept: 18:00 to 19:30

Guided walk by Mike Arnold providing a fascinating insight into various Daventry Town Centre buildings. The tour will inform visitors about the history and previous usage of the town’s oldest buildings.
