As part of Daventry Museum’s Arts, Crafts and Collectables exhibition, members of Daventry Model Boat Club will be putting on a display in the museum from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 7th July.
Daventry Model Boat Club was formed in 1980 by five members who wanted to sail electric scale model boats and yachts in the Daventry area. The club used to sail at Daventry Country Park but due to the designated area drying out in the summer the club decided to move to Napton Marina. The club meets on Sunday afternoons and in the summer months on Wednesday evenings.
Alongside the model boats there is a range of arts and crafts exhibits, including Charlotte Hupfield Ceramics, country craftsman Robert Manton’s Corn Dollies, and a display of quilts by Danetre Quilters.
Collectables also feature in the exhibition including vinyl records, pocket watches and brooches.
