We offer educational services to schools and other learning groups, and can provide a venue for exhibitions, and collaborate in projects with the Daventry community to explore their heritage in new and exciting ways.
School groups and community groups are very welcome at the museum, and our experienced and knowledgeable team provide meaningful and educational engagements with students of all ages. Visits can be themed around our current exhibition or that of the town history displays. We also offer a Civic loans box for schools to use in the classroom, introducing children to the past and present roles of the Town Council and the basic principles of democracy. Are you interested in Daventry’s past? Are you a keen researcher? Would you like to learn and share your knowledge of the local area by becoming a steward? If so we’d love to hear from you!
You don’t need specific qualifications, we are looking for someone who enjoys history, has a positive and friendly attitude, and able to work as part of a team.
Our volunteers are invaluable members of the museum team and carry out a range of tasks from stewarding the museum during opening hours and researching objects for new exhibitions, to assisting with events, school visits and outreach sessions out in the community.
Daventry Museum is funded by Daventry Town Council and supported by a dedicated group of volunteers. We welcome support from local people, businesses and funders. Please do get in touch if you are interested in supporting the museum, whether that be with your time, expertise or resources.

Daventry Museum actively collect objects, both historical and contemporary, as well as oral histories from the local area (we are happy to record these histories for you upon request).
From the collection’s beginnings in the mid 20th Century, to the present day, Daventry Museum continues to collect items both historic and contemporary from the local area.
