The Somme Remembered at Daventry Museum

On Saturday 2nd July Daventry Museum held a special, commemorative event marking the Centenary Anniversary of the Battle of the Somme. The day began with the Mayor, Cllr Glenda Simmonds, leading the Act of Remembrance, followed by a recital of poems, reflecting on the lives and sacrifices made by brave men and women in one of the bloodiest battles in British military history…. Capability Brown Textile Exhibition

Battle of the Somme Centenary Anniversary – Saturday 2nd July

The museum will be putting on a commemorative display to mark the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of the Somme on Saturday 2nd July.  Joining us in the museum will be Roger Money with his collection of wartime memorabilia, including silk postcards, and Gerry Thompson will be here with his research in to the lives of the 14 Daventry Soldiers who died in the Battle… Read more »
