The museum will be putting on a commemorative display to mark the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of the Somme on Saturday 2nd July. Joining us in the museum will be Roger Money with his collection of wartime memorabilia, including silk postcards, and Gerry Thompson will be here with his research in to the lives of the 14 Daventry Soldiers who died in the Battle of the Somme.
Wartime images and videos will be projected on a screen in the museum and a two minutes silence will be held at 11am followed by a reading of war poems.
Members of the public are invited to leave their thoughts in memory of those fallen. A special exhibit by one of the museum volunteers of their trip to Thiepval Memorial in 2008 will also be on display.
The display is on for one day only so make sure you visit the museum from 10am to 4pm to mark the centenary with us.
