Half-term Halloween fun

On the evening of 25th October Daventry Museum hosted a free performance of Beastly Monsters and Monstrous Beasts, as part of the National ‘Museums at Night’ event and half-term activities.

The one-woman show, set in the Edwardian era, told the story of how Agent Alice Quartermain defied the odds and helped save the world from being taken over by time travelling dinosaurs!

The audience had a terrific time joining in the drama by stomping, roaring and shrieking at the thrilling tale!

The show by Don’t Go Into the Cellar! Theatre Company was written for young audiences and certainly got everyone in the mood for Halloween.

The museum had invited the young members of the audience to dress in Halloween costume and the best costume went to the cowboy, who won a little chocolate ghost.

Museum exhibits transformed to a ‘Wall of forgotten faces’ and a spooky shop for the evening.

Daventry Museum will be hosting another production by Don’t Go Into the Cellar! Theatre Company in the Easter Holidays 2019, entitled ‘Edward Lear’s Stuff and Nonsense’.
