On Saturday 7th April the museum will be open with our Sport and Leisure exhibition from 10am to 4pm.
We’re pleased to announce that Ian Litchfield, pro disability bowler, is returning to the museum from 10am to 12pm with a demonstration of ‘Carpet Bowls’. Ian invented this portable version of bowls which can be taken to various organisations, including nursing homes and local community groups to enable disabled people to participate in bowls.
Visitors to the museum will be able to test their skills by participating in a game of ‘Carpet Bowls’ with Ian. We certainly had fun the last time he visited us in February!
The Sport and Leisure exhibits explore Daventry’s hobbies of the past and present; from football to fishing; skating to swimming; and gardening to golf; there will be something for everyone.
